A winter storm on Lake Erie brought some large waves to the shoreline at Crystal Beach (Fort Erie), ON, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016.
The photos in the album below were shot at Crystal Beach Waterfront Park, which juts out into the lake. On the east side of park, surfers can often be found on the waves when the conditions are right. On the west side of the park, across a large parking lot, waves come in to hit a large concrete wall, used to protect the long-gone Crystal Beach Amusement Park. The former park is now home to upscale homes.
When the waves hit the concrete wall, they bounce back into incoming waves, causing them to double up in size and make for some great photos.
