The 38th annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival was held over the Civic Holiday weekend in Port Colborne.
According to the Canal Days page, the event draws in more than 300,000 people over its four day run and encompasses the entire community.
Activities were held at a dozen different venues, including H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park with Ontario’s largest outdoor classic car and international kite show; Seaway Park children’s area; Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum with the history of the Welland Canal on display, and heritage artisans; Roselawn Centre with live entertainment; Vale Centre; West Street with food and other vendors; and the Market Square concert.
Finger Eleven, Jeff Martin, Nathan McNevin & The Silence Factory, Mandevilles Duo Serena Pryne and Nick Lesyk, Kim Mitchell, and David Wilcox were the main acts on Friday and Saturday.
The Empire Sandy and Hamilton Harbour Queen offered tours on Lake Erie, and people could also visit the E.M. Cotter Fire Boat from Buffalo, NY.
